Dean Ryan was awarded a five (5) year contract by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Central Federal Lands Highway Division (FHWA/CFLHD) to provide comprehensive environmental engineering and compliance services throughout a three (3) state area (California, Arizona, and Nevada). Dean Ryan, as the Prime Consultant, will supplement FHWA/CFLHD work through the environmental phases of project development and related activities on various highway and bridge projects within FHWA/CFLHD. Projects will generally be located in or near national forests; however, projects may also be located on Indian reservations, military installations, or on other US Government owned lands.
Dean Ryan will provide environmental studies relating but not limited to: biological (threatened and endangered species, wetlands, general floral and fauna), water quality, cultural resources, hazardous waste, air quality, noise, visual, Section 4(f), social economic, land use, farmlands, water body modification, floodplains, wild and scenic rivers, and considerations relating to pedestrians and bicyclists. Dean Ryan professionals are also performing environmental evaluations and document preparation including: evaluating the effects of proposed highway improvements on the environment using information obtained from the environmental studies and other sources, and performing all aspects of draft and final environmental Section 4(f) document preparation. In addition, Dean Ryan will provide interagency coordination as well as aspects of coordination with other governmental agencies, necessary to perform all other work required under this contract. Dean Ryan is also providing public involvement services including conducting, and participating in public meetings and hearings; meetings with individuals and interested groups; preparation and distribution of newsletters; and preparation of letters of intent and news releases.
